My husband and I stayed at El Palacito for our delayed honeymoon and couldn't have been happier! It was an incredible trip! The hotel and our suite were beautiful. We visited in July 2020 and even though many things in Merida were shut down, the amentities at El Palacito were wonderful and we felt very safe. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The location is easily walkable to many great restaruants and things to do/see. Anita was great to work with. She had some awesome recommendations for excursions and restaurants. The value was outstanding! We plan to return in November for another wonderful stay!
Not enough words
What an amazing place that is only second to the kindness and generosity of Anita, Roberto, and Paul. I have never stayed anyplace where I was immediately made to feel like close friends welcoming me home. In my experience, El Palacito Secreto is probably the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The sunset was a transcending experience. This is where we will stay whenever we go to Merida.
Fabulous place to stay! So spoiled, will never stay anywhere else in Merida
This property is magnificent and the owners and staff make you feel like family! We were vacationing in Chuburna but wanted to stay somewhere fancy in the city for the night of our 25th anniversary. A friend recommended this place. We pulled up outside to a very unassuming entrance. We were greeted at the door by the lovely Gabriella, and as soon as we stepped inside we were transported into another dimension. The beauty of this place is indescribable, but I will do my best. It is tastefully appointed with old world charm furnishings and artwork. The grounds are immaculate and the pool! It's just spectacular!! While checking in, we were greeted by the owners, Paul and Martine. They are such a lovely couple and instantly made us feel at home; their home. Our room was amazing. The bed was so comfortable we could have stayed in it all day. The bathroom was exquisite, down to the robes, hair and body products. The location is perfect; we walked to dinner and enjoyed strolling through the neighborhood. They serve a delicious breakfast buffet with all kinds of unique tasty treats. We took advantage of the in room massage, which I highly recommend! It was so hard to leave; one night is really not enough! We will stay here everytime we go to Merida, for sure!!

We were at El Palacito Secreto, a wonderful refuge in the city of Merida. A cozy atmosphere, friendly and dedicated hosts, a special care in every detail of the place. Absolutely perfect stay in Mérida
We had an absolutely perfect stay in Mérida from start to finish. We instantly felt at home with the very warm welcome from the exceptional hosts. The property is so beautiful, with everything you could need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The attention to detail and all of the many thoughtful touches really made this place stand out from the rest. The activity and restaurant suggestions were extremely helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed every one we tried! We would recommend a stay here to anyone visiting Mérida!
Amazing
Unser Aufenthalt in Merida war sehr entspannend. Die Fotos entsprechend wirklich genau dem was einen erwartet. Von außen ganz unscheinbar und der Innenhof dann unglaublich schön. Wir haben noch kurzerhand Massagen organisiert bekommen, alles unproblematisch und super gastfreundlich. Wir würden jedem diese besondere Unterkunft empfehlen!

Super Hosts
I truly cannot say enough good things about Martine, Paul and Anita - these actually are ‘Super Hosts’ in every sense of the phrase. They are kind, welcoming, responsive, available and thoughtful and their properties are nothing short of spectacular. These hosts have anticipated literally everything a traveler might require or want. The rooms are beautifully decorated with gorgeous private bathrooms, ceiling fans, a/c, super comfy beds and nice quality linens. At least one of our hosts were generally available as we passed through the common areas, ready with recommendations or just for a nice chat. The grounds here are exquisite with a lush lawn and a gorgeous sparkling Italianate pool. There is a kitchen with a well stocked ‘honor’ beverage refrigerator, (cold sodas, water, beer, wine), which is such a great, thoughtful idea as it saved us from wasting our time running around trying to locate those things. They also can set up anything from in-room massages to meetings with estate agents - honestly, these guys don’t miss a beat. We’ll miss sitting by the pool and chatting with Paul, Martine and Anita - what a lovely family.
Gracious and exquisite
Gracious, exquisite Palacito Secreto was just the magical touch for us at the end of a tour of the Yucatan. Run by the fascinating and charming Irish expats Anita and her parents Martine and Paul, this elegant palacito was lovingly crafted from gorgeous stone and tile work, hand carved pillars and sweeping, feather-lite curtains to keep you cool and feeling like you’ve been transported to another world. The pool is magical - lit dramatically at night, yet it is at its most captivating at high noon when you can best admire the beautiful tile work while lazing in the cool sparkling water. A very high end kitchen is at your disposal plus a well stocked fridge holding honor-bar beer and wine. Starting shortly breakfast will be included. We got to taste-test some of the goodies and you won’t be disappointed. We stayed in the Marie Antoinette room. We loved the large open elegant bathroom and the porch where we ate and read. I’m sure this will book up fast, but if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, you will have a wonderful relaxing happy time here.
Top notch
Top notch hosts that go above and beyond for their guests. The place is very clean and they can guide you with local activities. Merida is a safe area to stay with friendly locals. Will definitely return for another visit.
